Whether you’re a high school student preparing for jazz band or a young pianist looking to find your own voice, this session is designed to break down the mysteries of improvisation, groove, and contemporary performance. Kavyesh has shared the stage with legends like Wynton Marsalis—now, he’s coming to the Schmitt Music Concert Hall to share those insights with you.

Kavyesh Kaviraj is a pianist, composer and arranger from India. Although primarily a jazz pianist, he is known for his versatility as a musician; thanks to his experience in different musical climates he is closely involved with settings of many different genres and styles.

Born into a musical family, Kavyesh began playing piano at age two, launching a career that now spans Middle-Eastern, Indian, and American shores. A versatile performer trained in Western classical and contemporary styles alongside Carnatic and Hindustani traditions, he has shared the stage with icons like Wynton Marsalis and David Sanchez.
