Learn how to perform you own fecal exams on your animals in this hands on class. No experience is necessary!
We will provide all the equipment needed for this class. You are welcome to bring your own microscope, if you have one and please bring a fresh sample of one or more of your animals.
We will explain how to properly store a sample until you are ready to run the fecal, and we will take you step by step through the process of preparing the sample, viewing the sample, identifying items in the sample, the proper way to count and record your findings for your records and for information you need if you need to contact your veterinarian for treatment options. We will also demonstrate how to make your own fecal flotation solution verses having to buy a solution.
You will receive your own copy of "Know Thine Enemy DIY Fecal Testing" book by Maggie Leman, a $12.95 value, to use and take home, many handouts with important and useful information, recommendations for Facebook groups that help with parasite identification, a link to purchase all the needed items to have your own supplies ready and available to do your own fecals at home and most importantly, the knowledge and confidence you need to help take care of your animals.
Classes are limited to 5 people or 5 couples who live at the same address. Couples will share a microscope, supplies and will receive one booklet to take home.
Classes are $125 for individuals or $200 for couples from the same address.
We will start the morning off with "Coffee and Critters" at 9 am. We will have coffee and muffins available and an opportunity to tour the farm and see the animals before starting the class if you so choose.
Send us a message to reserve your spot. Spots are very limited and will fill up quickly!
