A one-off night built around collaboration, storytelling and the collision of distinct musical worlds. Trumpeter, vocalist and songwriter Harry James Angus steps into a new creative chapter, bringing his sharp ear for character, humour and jazz-driven improvisation into a live setting shaped by the artists around him.
Joining him are IZY, the FNQ-born neo-soul trio whose slinky, all-instrument, future-soul sound carries the lineage of Prince, D’Angelo and old-school soul. Raised in musical families and forged on long drives and countless shows across northern Australia, Ryo, Warrigo and Maru now bring the raw, positive energy that has defined their rise since relocating to Melbourne.
Jamahl Yami, Waanyi and Gangaliida rapper and storyteller, adds another dimension. Known for his vivid, Blak-centred lyricism and breakout release Blood Majik, Jamahl’s work moves between personal narrative, cultural experience and boundary-pushing Australian hip hop. His collaborations span Miss Kaninna, Barkaa, IZY and more, and his live presence hits with force.
Rounding out the ensemble is Los Caracoles, weaving Latin American folk traditions into the mix with guitars, charango, tres, bombo, congas and percussion. Their music moves through cumbia, chacarera, son Cubano, boleros and rumbas, carrying themes of love, migration, social change, environmental stories and pure celebration.
Across the night, these artists trade ideas in real time. Jazz, neo-soul, hip hop and Latin folk flow into each other, reshaped through improvisation, rhythm and shared storytelling. A rare, living collaboration where every artist brings their lineage, their sound and their voice to the stage.
