Anvil is a Canadian heavy metal band formed in 1978 by childhood friends Steve "Lips" Kudlow and Robb Reiner. Known for their hard-hitting sound and intense live performances, Anvil gained a cult following in the 1980s with albums like Metal on Metal and Forged in Fire. Despite setbacks and struggles, including being overshadowed by other bands in the genre, Anvil has continued to create music and tour, inspiring a documentary film titled "Anvil! The Story of Anvil" in 2008. With their persistence and passion for metal, Anvil remains a beloved and influential band in the heavy metal scene.
