Have you ever wanted to know how to use Narcan nasal spray to reverse an overdose, how to use fentanyl test strips, or just know more about opioids in general?
Come to a FREE overdose prevention and Narcan training workshop in Eau Claire on Thursday, August 28. Open to all!
WHEN: Thursday, August 28, 5:30-7:00pm
WHERE: L.E. Phillips Memorial Library – Riverview Room
You’ll learn about opioids, how to respond to an opioid overdose, how to safely store opioid medication, how to use fentanyl test strips, and how to use Narcan, a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose.
Narcan, fentanyl test strips, and other resources will be available for free.
In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), purple flags and buttons will also be available. IOAD is observed each August to remember the loved ones we’ve lost to overdose and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind. The day seeks to create a better understanding of overdose, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, and reduce the harms associated with drug use.
