Artist Bios & Musical Highlights:
Jim Nelson
Jim Nelson is a singer-songwriter deeply rooted in the Chippewa Valley scene. He often performs solo, and also plays with the local band The Cutaways.
His music leans into country, folk, and bluegrass influences — original compositions that reflect both reverence for tradition and personal storytelling.
Beyond music, Jim spent many years as an elementary school teacher in the region, and remains a beloved presence in local open mics and community events.
Jon Loomis
While Jon Loomis is best known as a poet, author, and professor, he more recently has stepped into the musical realm.
He is a professor of English at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, and is the author of the Frank Coffin mystery novels and multiple poetry collections (e.g. Vanitas Motel).
Recent coverage notes that he is preparing or has released a debut music album, and will be performing locally (e.g. at 2 Roots Gallery) with original acoustic material.
His voice on stage blends the literary and the musical — expect careful lyrics, poetic nuance, and introspective arrangements.
Tim Case
Tim Case is a folk-inspired, country-adjacent singer/songwriter from Wisconsin.
His 2025 album Hall of Mirrors was recorded at Pine Hollow studio in Eau Claire, and spans a range of Americana styles: “Rock River Song,” “What Am I Missing?,” brooding folk, cosmic country, and more.
On stage, Tim is known for his storytelling, acoustic instrumentation, and poignant reflections on family, place, and contemporary life.
