About the event

Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration
In collaboration with Centering Native Voices, we are proud to welcome Christopher Sweet. Christopher is a celebrated Native American artist, who will be unveiling a new, original artwork created specifically for the UW-Eau Claire campus. This piece honors the sacred and ancestral lands upon which our university stands with the council oak.

Christopher‘s artwork will be on display with select pieces available for purchase.

We are also honored to welcome Wisconsin poet laureate Dee Sweet, Christopher’s cousin. Dee will be composing a poem and recognition and celebration of the significant day .

Come, listen and speak with the Sweets as they share their message through visual art, and spoken word .

Location: UW-Eau Claire Centennial Hall
3rd Floor - Lantern Room
