• 1 group session per week (2–2.5 hours)

• Optional daily/weekly at-home practices (10–20 min)

Listening to the Message of Addiction


Theme: Addiction as a messenger

Focus: Awareness, safety, and origin


Session Flow:

1. Opening Circle (20 min)

• Intention setting

• Group agreements (confidentiality, choice, pacing)

2. Teaching: The Shamanic View of Addiction (15 min)

• Addiction as displaced soul energy

• Rhythm as a regulator of the nervous system

3. Drumming Journey: Meeting the Guardian of the Pattern (30 min)

• Slow, steady drum (4–7 bpm)

• Journey to meet the part of you that protects you through addiction

4. Integration (30 min)

• Journaling or drawing

• Optional sharing (no fixing, no advice)

5. Grounding Ritual (15 min)

• Breath + body awareness

• Closing drum to signal return


Home Practice:

• 5–10 minutes of gentle drumming or heartbeat tapping daily

• Journal prompt: “What is this pattern trying to protect me from?”
