Cartomancy: Reading the Cards

Discover the art of cartomancy, the practice of divination using ordinary playing cards. In this hands-on class, you’ll not only learn how to interpret the cards but also create your own personal cartomancy deck to continue your journey at home. You may bring your own deck of playing cards, purchase one during class for $5, or borrow from a limited supply of practice decks. All other supplies are provided.

What You’ll Learn & Do:

-Brief introduction to cartomancy and card meanings
-Guided example: 9-card reading with each card explained
-Partner practice: perform a 9-card spread with fellow students
-Explore different spread variations with guided examples and practice time
-Customize your deck: write card meanings directly onto your cards for quick reference

By the end of class, you’ll leave with a working knowledge of spreads, card combinations, and a personalized deck that makes readings intuitive and fun.
