Grounded- An exploration of the Root Chakra through the lens of Kundalini Yoga and the Energy Body
The Root Chakra—Muladhara—is the energetic foundation of our entire being. Located at the base of the spine, it governs our sense of safety, stability, and belonging.
Just as a tree needs strong roots to stand tall, we need a solid foundation to thrive in our bodies, relationships, and lives.
When the root chakra is out of balance, we can feel:
->Anxious, scattered, or “all over the place”
->Chronically on edge, unable to relax
->Disconnected from our body or surroundings
->Preoccupied with security, money, or survival
->Unstable in our routines, health, or relationships
Why this matters for the nervous system:
Your root chakra is closely linked to your body’s survival wiring, the primal part of the nervous system that governs “fight, flight, freeze” responses.
When we feel unsafe or ungrounded, the nervous system can get stuck in high alert, leaving us tense, fatigued, or burned out.
Grounding practices help signal to the body that it’s safe to relax, restoring balance to both mind and body.
In this 2-hour workshop, we’ll combine:
->Vinyasa-style Yoga to build strength and stability
->Kundalini activations to awaken and balance the root chakra’s energy
->Yin Yoga to melt tension and deepen the sense of connection to the earth beneath you
->Breathwork, visualisation, chanting and meditation to regulate the nervous system and anchor your awareness in the present moment
You’ll leave feeling:
->Connected to your body
->Calmer and more centred
->Better able to meet life’s challenges from a place of stability
->A deep inner sense of safety and belonging
