Travel can reawaken our senses and inspire us to shoot compelling images that we treasure long after we come home. But wait, before you go—careful planning, being smart about gear, and staying flexible on location will go a long way towards making your trip enjoyable and rewarding photographically. Please join us at MVPC’s general meeting at Eagan City Hall on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m., for a free talk by global editorial photographer Layne Kennedy on travel, and travel photography. This is a great opportunity to learn something new about photography and talk to Club members about everything MVPC has to offer photographers of all aptitudes and skill levels.
Layne, whose environmental and travel photos have appeared in magazines such as National Geographic Traveler, Outside, Smithsonian and Sports Illustrated, will share insights on conveying a strong sense of place in our photos, illustrating his points with images captured around the world. His latest book, Beyond the Light: The Stories Behind the Photographs, will be available for purchase at the meeting, at a discounted price.
City Hall is in the Eagan Municipal Center at 3830 Pilot Knob Road. Enter through the City Hall entrance off the main parking lot. If you’re not a member of MVPC, please email your request for Zoom access to:
