#NeverAgain — End Second Bonds on Violent Offenses
Jessica Espinoza was the warning.
Eve is the proof nothing changed.
#NeverAgain is the promise we are making as a community.
We are launching the #NeverAgain Campaign to demand accountability, victim protection, and meaningful policy change in Bryan County. Today, defendants charged with violent offenses are still being granted a second bond before trial — even after protective orders, repeated assaults, and clear danger to victims.
This isn’t just a legal failure — it is a public safety failure. It puts victims at continued risk, leaves families unprotected, and enables offenders to repeat their violence.
#NeverAgain means:
• Never again should a violent offender walk out on a second bond and return straight to their victim.
• Never again should protective orders be treated as paperwork instead of protection.
• Never again should “bond” function as a reset button for violence.
• Never again should victims be forced to carry the burden of their own protection.
• Never again should cases like Jessica Espinoza’s or Eve’s be seen as isolated incidents instead of warnings.
We are demanding:
• An end to second bonds for violent offenses before trial
• Stronger victim safety measures and enforcement
• Public and legislative accountability at the county and state levels
• Real consequences for violating protective orders
This protest is the first step of the #NeverAgain Campaign, which will continue through survivor advocacy, public education, media outreach, and legislative action.
This is a peaceful, public, and purposeful demonstration.
Bring signs, support, and solidarity. Victims deserve protection. Families deserve accountability. Our community deserves better.
