INTRO TO WEAVE DRAFTING AND DESIGN

Have you ever wanted to weave a pattern you saw in Handwoven Magazine or other sources, but were baffled as to how to read the draft? This class is for you.
Session 1: We will be starting from the very beginning and going through the different parts of the draft in detail to help you understand and be able to interpret most drafts. You will learn how to integrate the information from the written draft to the loom and be able to create a fabric of your choice.
Session 2: Review homework from session 1 & Q and A. Go more in depth with threading, tie-ups, and treadling possibilities. What happens if you make changes in 1 or more parts of the draft? Introduction to computer drafting using PCW.
Session 3: Designing and Planning. What are the elements to take into consideration when planning a handwoven project? These include, but are not limited to, size, yarn, color, texture, proportion, etc.
