Shaky Hollows are an alt-country band hailing from Dunedin, New Zealand.
After a brief hiatus following their debut EP ‘A Communion of Sorrows’ in 2017, singer/songwriter Casey Hilder put together a fresh new lineup in early 2022. They have been busy creating an album’s worth of new material which was released in 2025 as their debut full length album ‘Inside a Silver Locket’.
Shaky Hollows play traditional string instruments with modern songwriting sensibilities, putting their own unique stamp on the alt country genre. They blend together elements of Americana, folk and southern gothic, creating a wistfully melancholic soundscape. The lyrics weave gritty personal narratives of loss, love, addiction, ruin and redemption.
Lara Rose is a Dunedin-based singer songwriter. She has established her style of indie-folk, using writing to reflect on aspects of her own experiences. She toured the nation as one half of the folk duo, Tall Folk. In January 2022 they released their debut album ‘Wiser’, recorded at Port Chalmer’s Chick’s Hotel and brought to life by Dunedin’s most talented musicians.
Lara will play a mixture of both songs from the album as well as new material she has been working on, sharing these songs in their raw stripped-back form.
