Mick Abbott - Forever Wild, Until It’s Not. September Meeting + Section AGM

Mick Abbott is a long-time tramper, climber and advocate for the wild places of Aotearoa. A former Fairydown gear designer turned landscape architect, he’s spent decades exploring how design, storytelling and community can deepen our connection to the places we love. As co-founder of WildLab, he partners with iwi, conservation groups and outdoor communities nationwide. He is vice president of FMC.

Tonight he’ll share reflections from many nights in Fiordland and beyond, and explore how our time in the outdoors gives us a unique insight — and a role to play — as proposed changes to our conservation laws unfold.

Note: The section night will be held in the Matheson Room at Knox Church, Dunedin (between George Street and Pitt Street). The venue is located behind the church. Please note that parking is not available on the church grounds, so drivers will need to find nearby street parking.
