On June 18, 1875, a fire broke out in a whiskey warehouse in the Liberties, Dublin. As barrels of whiskey burst in the intense heat, flaming alcohol flowed through the streets, setting the city ablaze. The fire posed an unprecedented challenge to firefighters and left devastation in its wake.
