Mike and Tina have unfortunately had to cancel this month, but, the fantastic news is, we have been able to get a top-notch replacement in the form of the marvellous Abi Budgen! (details below).
Our slam is still on. There is still room for 12 slam poets to impress our audience in 3 minutes, there will still be drinks and food available to purchase, we should still have our fantastic winner from last month giving us a showcase of their work, you shall still have your silly hosts, and, as ever, still have excellent prizes to win in our slam!
Our headliner this month:
Abi Budgen is a writer, musician and well loved voice in the Birmingham poetry community. Her work has been published by Verve Poetry Press in the anthology ‘Eighty Four’ and she is a winner of the Funkenteleky slam. Abi has recently collaborated with legendary Birmingham band The Destroyers performing her poem ‘The Wave’ with them both live and on their latest album, Argonaut.
