Purpose
The workshop is designed to ensure all referees are confident, consistent, and well-prepared for the Dubbo Sixes competition. By aligning understanding of the rules, procedures, and expectations, we aim to create a better experience for both referees and players, with clear support structures in place for officiating and disciplinary decisions.
Workshop Objectives
Referees will be briefed on:
Competition Rules: key rules of the event and any variations.
Disciplinary Process: how to manage incidents and apply consistent outcomes.
Referee Coordinator Role: point of contact and support for referees.
Event Coordinator Role: responsibilities and communication pathway.
Event Format: number of games, scheduling, and competition structure.
Referee Form: recording of game details, results, and incidents.
Referee Attire: required uniform.
What to Bring: whistle, suitable clothing/footwear, watch/timer, and other personal items needed to officiate effectively.
Outcome
By the end of the workshop, referees will have:
⚽A clear understanding of the event rules and processes.
⚽Confidence in their decision-making and disciplinary actions.
⚽Awareness of who to approach for guidance or support during the event.
⚽Consistency in officiating standards across all matches.
