Step Into Design: The Portfolio Holiday Camp

Are you aged 16 to 19 and passionate about design? The School of Textiles and Design at Heriot-Watt University Dubai is pleased to offer the Step Into Design: The Portfolio Holiday Camp, a two-week immersive programme from 8th-19th December 2025, designed to help you explore different design fields and build a strong portfolio for university applications.

Over ten engaging days, you will take part in practical workshops led by specialist tutors. Each day covers a new design discipline, including photography, creative editing, fashion branding, communication design, and model-making with sustainable materials. You will also enjoy an off-campus visit to Louvre Abu Dhabi for observational photography and sketching.

The programme combines morning theory sessions with afternoon hands-on studio work. By the end, you will have a professionally formatted digital portfolio and a clearer understanding of your creative strengths. The camp concludes with an open-studio exhibition where family and friends can celebrate your achievements.

Key Information

• Location: Dubai Campus, School of Textiles and Design
• Fee: AED AED 1,900 per week (Total 4,000 including lunch or AED 3,800 without lunch)
• Small groups ensure personalised attention
• Attendees are fully supervised by faculty and trained staff
