Tompkins County Quilter’s Guild presents 50 Years of Traditions and Beyond 2025 Quilt Show, Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st, from 10–5 pm, at the Tompkins Cortland Community College Field House in Dryden, NY. Admission is $10.00 for adults and free for young people up to age 18, with proceeds benefiting the ongoing activities of the Tompkins County Quilters Guild, a not-for-profit community organization that just celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024.

Commemoration of the 1976 Finger Lakes Bicentennial Quilt Exhibit
50 Years of Traditions and Beyond 2025 Quilt Show will showcase more than 200 quilts in a variety of styles from traditional to contemporary. Featured quilter will be Aafke Steenhuis who is known for her stunning contemporary pieced and appliqued quilts. In addition to quilts galore, features of the Quilt Show include chances to win the stunning “Flying to the Stars” show quilt created by members of TCQG, a Vendor Mall offering quilt fabric, patterns, and many quilt resources, gently-used quilt books for sale, a display of quilted wearables, and a silent auction of 100 small quilts made by members of TCQG.
Special displays at the Quilt Show also include commemoration of 50 years since the 1976 Finger Lakes Bicentennial Quilt Exhibit. The 1976 weeklong quilt extravaganza featured over 600 quilts and events and exhibits all around Ithaca, NY. It was one of the largest quilt exhibits in the nation at that time and was nationally recognized as influential in the quilt revival. The FL Bicentennial Quilt Exhibit drew visitors and quilters from across the country as well as international attendees. It was the premier convening of the country's top quilters and enthusiasts who met for the first time. This seminal quilt show became a blueprint for quilt shows that popped up across the country.

Tompkins County Quilters Guild (TCQG) invites quiltmakers and quilt enthusiasts from across Tompkins County and beyond to enter their quilts and quilted wearables for 50 Years of Traditions and Beyond TCQG’s 2025 Quilt Show. quilts and quilted wearables can be submitted through an online entry system at from April 15th to July 15th, 2025. Quilt submission fee is $15.00 for 1-3 items. All entries will be accepted if show space permits.

The Tompkins County Quilters Guild is a membership organization with bimonthly meetings held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm at Lifelong (119 West Court Street, Ithaca).
Members learn together in workshops and weekend quilting retreats, create service
quilts for good causes, and enjoy amazing show-and-tell at meetings. New members are welcome!
