McHugh’s Venue and Deadly Craic Events proudly presents Drogheda’s ORIGINAL monthly comedy night, Deadly Craic Comedy Club on Friday February 27th.

For just around €10, on the last Friday of the month, you get a night of big laughs from some of Ireland’s finest comedians. Get ready for superstar headliner, Karl Spain!

Best known as a stand up comedian. Karl has had his own series on Irish Television called ‘Karl Spain wants a woman’ and also ‘Karl Spain wants to Rock’. Karl has performed stand up on stage and T.V all across the world , the United States, the Middle East, Australia, Hong Kong and even the UK.

Karl is a festival favourite from appearing at every Cat Laughs festival since 2002 to the Edinburgh festival , Just for Laughs in Montreal, festivals in Australia. He hosts the late night KARLnival at the Galway comedy carnival. Karl has also appeared at every Kilkenomics festival since it began, the worlds only Comedy/Economics festival.

Karl has also worked for numerous charities from The Samaritans, Poppy’s Wheels, Stand up against Racism, the Irish Cancer Society and many more. He doesn’t like to go on about it too much. But if you mention it to him he will talk about it.

As a writer Karl has worked in a number of different realms from Situation Comedy (Sky Shorts) , Topical News shows (like Republic of Telly and the Blame Game). Award shows (like the IFTA’S) and Karl has co-written the Olympia Panto. He has also written and co-written stand up shows for a number of other comedians. Shows which have been nominated and won awards.

Not only do you get a famous comic in an intimate setting, but you also get a killer lineup featuring some of the country's best up-and-comers, such as the hilarious Elizabeth Redmond.
