Incarnation Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church and The Delaware Deanery of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania will host Celtic Evening Prayer on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 4:30 PM, inviting the wider community into a contemplative service of prayer and music rooted in the Celtic Christian tradition.
Observed on the Feast of St. Brigid and the Eve of the Presentation, the service will include scripture and song, reflecting the Celtic emphasis on God’s presence in creation, community, and daily life.
The preacher for the service will be the Rev. Sarah Dunn, Rector of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Drexel Hill.
Fr. Benjamin Gildas, Rector of IHS says “Celtic prayer is grounded, incarnational, and deeply attentive to the nearness of God. It invites us to listen—to the rhythms of creation, to one another, and to the holy that meets us in ordinary life. This service is an opportunity to step into that attentiveness together.”
As part of the service, attendees are invited to bring prayer shawls or blankets to be blessed, either for themselves or for others, as a tangible sign of comfort, care, and prayer.
The service is offered by congregations of the Delaware Deanery, representing Episcopal churches across the local area. All are welcome, regardless of church affiliation or background.
