Black Velvet Jazz Quartet presents a touch of class with their mix of toe-tapping Latin Groove, Standards and Middle-of-the-Road Rock to keep audiences enthralled and entertained.
South African born jazz singer, Deeny Kohler-Caporale hails from Cape Town and has been residing in Australia since 1979. She is the owner of Bohemian coffee shop and restaurant in King Street Warwick called “Joie de Vivre-the Joy of Life” where she often performs with the Black Velvet Jazz Ensemble. Deeny does a mix of Latin and Traditional Jazz Standards, tossing in an original flavour of Soul to spice things up. She keeps the boys “in line” with her energetic repertoire. Her performance includes popular hits from the charts of Bassey, Cole, Vaughn, James and Holiday, as well as a smidge of Piaf to name a few…..Her backing musicians are highly professional and it is evident that not only are they experts at their trade, but also fun to be around!
Sam Pace Is a versatile Keyboard player. Sam has broad experience with various Combos and Stage Bands playing Piano , Organ , and Piano Accordion and is proudly associated with Mood Music Entertainment. Performances have been at Sunshine Coast Jazz & Blues Collective, Toowoomba Jazz Club, Brisbane Jazz Club, Gold Coast HOTA, Warwick Jumpers & Jazz , Emporium Hotel Southbank and is currently performing with the Mark Pradella Band.
Bill Croft has been playing jazz since the British Revivalist era. He has played all around the world. Bill arrived in Brisbane just in time for a season at the Ekka, the Noosa Jazz Party and was at the very first Jumpers and Jazz in Warwick. He has brought his gift for entertainment to numerous Brisbane bands and venues. He now plays and resides in Warwick.
Camillo is a local musician who has been active in the local Toowoomba scene for over 30 years. He is equally skilled on trumpet, piano and bass guitar. He has, and continues to perform with local brass bands, big bands, small and large jazz combos, concert bands and with local musical productions on bass guitar. Performing at the Toowoomba Jazz Club is always a highlight of his performance calendar.
New to Black Velvet Jazz is Steven Clark, a highly respected Drummer, Percussionist, Drumming Teacher, Visual Artist and all-round top bloke. He particularly favours Jazz and Blues and has a sensitive style for Latin Rhythms. He has performed at clubs and pubs, restaurants, carnivals and Jazz Festivals with many bands across the State.

PARKING: Access the car park off Gipps Street or there are parks in front of the bowling green in Ball Street and access via the gate.
ENTRANCE: Up the steps from the car park on the southern side of the building or from the bowling green side. Disabled access ramp on the Western side (Gipps Street) and through the bar.
