INTRODUCING THE DENNIS SHIELD 🏏
We’re proud to announce a brand-new annual fixture — the Dennis Shield — honouring the incredible contribution of the Dennis family to Met Easts Cricket.
Russell Dennis has been part of our club for over 50 years — first as a successful A Grade cricketer who also went on to achieve high representative honours, and now as the tireless curator of the mighty Harristown Park. His sons, Matthew and Simon Dennis (pictured), are both past students of Toowoomba Grammar School who became outstanding A Grade players for Mets and also achieved higher representative honours.
The Shield also recognises the long-standing bond between Toowoomba Grammar and Met Easts, with many Grammar cricketers proudly representing the Trojans over the years.
The Dennis Shield will see Met Easts A Grade take on the Toowoomba Grammar First XI each year in a showcase match celebrating club and school cricket.
📅 When: Monday, 6th October (Public Holiday)
🕙 Time: 10:00am start
📍 Where: Harristown Park
⚡ Format: One Day, 50 overs
🌭 Barbecue and drinks will be available all day — so bring the family, bring your mates, and come along to celebrate the season launch, support the Trojans, and honour one of Toowoomba’s great cricketing families.
