Experience the extraordinary life of Harriet Tubman in this compelling 60-minute, one-woman performance by Shirley Lee Corsey of Gather Place Museum in Yardley, PA. This performance is told through four vivid scenes, and is a first-person historical reenactment that traces Tubman’s journey from her early years as “Minty” to her rise as the legendary “Moses” of her people.
With powerful storytelling and authentic costume changes, Corsey brings Tubman’s legacy to life—as a fearless conductor on the Underground Railroad, the first woman in U.S. history to lead an armed military raid, a devoted suffragette, and a compassionate humanitarian. | The program concludes with an engaging Q&A session, inviting audiences of all ages to reflect on Tubman’s impact on American history. This performance is part of Gather Place Museum’s America 250th initiative—Celebrating 250 Years of American Resilience in Pursuit of Liberty, Justice, and Equality—and serves as a timeless inspiration for us all.
