Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) Celebration
The Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) is directly commanded by God in the Torah as one of His mo’edim (appointed times). It was given specifically to the Children of Israel as part of the covenant at Sinai. (Read more about this in Leviticus 23:23–25 & Numbers 29:1)
It points prophetically to Messiah’s return and the final redemption. Just as the shofar was sounded at Sinai to announce God’s presence, so it will sound again at the coming of Yeshua: “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God” (1 Thess. 4:16).
The blasts of the shofar remind us to:
Awaken – A call to repentance and spiritual alertness (Romans 13:11)
Remember – God’s covenant faithfulness and Messiah’s sacrifice
Anticipate – The day when Messiah will gather His people and reign as King (1 Cor. 15:52)
In Messiah, this feast is both a memorial of redemption past and a prophetic rehearsal of redemption to come.
Join us as we celebrate this High Holy Day! We’ll begin with a short prayer service and a teaching from Gabe Rutledge, leading into the powerful moment of the shofar blasts.
Please bring a clean/kosher finger food or side dish to share in fellowship. If you have a shofar, bring it and join us in the sounding!
