Disaster Response Training Class
Date: Saturday, July 19, 2025
Location: Covenant Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall
Time: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Cost: $40 per person (includes lunch, t-shirt, DRT ID badge, training book, and materials)
Join us for a basic Disaster Response Team (DRT) training designed to equip volunteers to assist survivors during disaster events. This training is mandatory for all volunteers who wish to respond to disasters and covers:
Basic roof tarping
Cleaning out flooded homes
Basic assessment techniques
Spiritual and emotional care
DRT protocols
And more
The goal is to prepare volunteers to provide effective support while minimizing further harm to survivors. Upon successful completion, participants will receive credentials recognized by all Global Conferences, including an Alabama Emerald Coast Conference DRT ID badge and a volunteer T-shirt.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older
Complete and pass a background check via Sterling Volunteers (link provided upon registering)
Complete Ministry Safe Sexual Abuse Awareness Training (link will be provided to registrants) and bring the certificate to class
Bring a valid state ID (e.g., driver’s license) for verification
