Alabama Dance Works is proud to announce its original dance production, Continuum, set to take the stage at the historic Dothan Opera House from June 12th to 14th at 7 PM each night. This innovative performance draws inspiration from the verses of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, exploring the cyclical nature of life and the profound human experiences of love, loss, transformation, and resilience.
Through a fusion of contemporary, modern, and dance theatre styles, Alabama Dance Works’ professional company will bring to life the tension between opposites—creation and destruction, mourning and dancing, silence and expression. The production treats these verses as poetic reflections on the passage of time and the beauty found in each season of life.
Audiences will be captivated by the show’s unique structure, which begins with the final moments of the performance and flows into the exploration of grief and rebirth. Dancers will embody the emotional depth of each chosen verse, from the heavy, sustained movement of mourning to the joyful and expressive energy of dance. The performance concludes with a powerful meditation on Ecclesiastes 3:10-11, celebrating the beauty that comes with the passage of time and the eternal nature of the human spirit.
