Together with the balanced power and musical ingenuity of the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, the singer embarks on an atmospheric journey through the repertoire of Amália Rodrigues, Leonard Bernstein, Cesária Évora, Abbey Lincoln and Stromae, among others.
Although the project title Saudade is usually translated as an emotional mix of loss, lack and love, BJO and Naima Joris approach the concept with a vibrant musical energy.
The Brussels Jazz Orchestra is Belgium’s only professional big band. It has a reputation that stretches from Singapore to New York and has performed on stages all over the world.
