Coffee and Conversation, November 19, 2025

One of the afternoons people in Didsbury look forward to the most, is the monthly Coffee & Conversation at the Didsbury Museum.

We have a very special guest for our November C&C as we recognize the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. After 6 long years of war, Germany surrendered unconditionally to the Allied forces on May 7th, 1945. A day later, the official documentation of surrender was signed, and Allied celebrations erupted around the world to mark VE Day, May 8, 1945.

Gerry Richire was a young child when World War II ended, and will relay stories from when she and her older sister lived in The Netherlands (aka Holland). She will give us some insight into what it was like in The Netherlands pre-war, during the war, and after WWII, and why Canadians are so loved.
