Step into the world of escapism, rum, and layered tropical flavor as we honor the godfather of tiki himself—Don the Beachcomber. Credited with creating the tiki cocktail genre in 1930s Hollywood, Don blended Caribbean spirits, Southeast Asian spices, and Polynesian flair into an entirely new style of drinking that captivated post-Prohibition America.
Tiki Cocktails Vol. 2 is a deep dive into some of Don’s most iconic—and complex—creations. Guests will be greeted with a Puka Puka Punch, one of Don’s signature multi-rum crowd-pleasers, before going hands-on to make three of his classics: the minty, tropical Missionary’s Downfall, the rich and boozy Demerara Dry Float, and the legendary Pearl Diver, known for its velvety “Gardenia Mix” and deeply layered flavor.
You’ll learn the stories behind the drinks, the techniques that made Don famous, and the secrets to balancing bold tiki flavors. The class includes food and a special take-home gift to help you bring a little island magic home.
