The Green, Devizes, United Kingdom
The building of Devizes castle started in the early 12th century, at first as a mottle and bailey castle in wood. It was on the boundaries of three manors - Rowde, Bishops Cannings and Potterne. It became known by its Latin name Castrum ad divisas - the castle at the boundaries, which evolved through the Vyses to an anglicised Devizes. The first documentary evidence for the castle is in 1106 when Robert of Normandy was imprisoned there.
The theme for the weekend is therefore "Any army dated 1106.”
Armies to be painted 200 points in 28mm, using 60mm frontage.
We will play to the latest rules and official clarifications/errata.
Players to provide their own game mats and terrain pieces as is the norm.
Four games will be played over the weekend.
Army lists to be emailed to Colin Cavenagh by 3 July 2026: Y29saW5fY2F2YW5hZ2ggfCB5YWhvbyAhIGNvbQ==
