Build a Pinecone Suet Feeder and Learn a Lot About Birds!

As we head into the cold months, birds need a high protein diet.

Suet offers the perfect supplement, plus it's the favorite of Woodpeckers, Flickers, Chickadees and Nuthatch. Because pinecones have a high fat content they make a perfectly healthy base for the feeder. We will be using peanut butter as the glue to hold the seeds in place. Simply hang the feeder from its string on either a tree or branch hook and watch the birds nibble.
