October 22nd Lunch n' Learn & Uniform Guidance & Grant Accounting

On Wednesday, October 22nd a combined monthly meeting, educational Lunch 'n Learn (LnL), and training webinar sponsored by the Des Moines Chapter of the AGA. Lunch (BYOL) begins at 11:30 am, followed by a brief business meeting. The LnL presentation begins at 12:00 pm followed by the webinar from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Lunch ‘n Learn: “Fund Analysis Challenges/Lessons Learned” by Lori Conner, Fiscal Analyst for the Department of Management.

This webinar will focus on concepts of common communication tools and the art of data automation while keeping the audience aware of associated risks and concepts of sensible safeguards to ensure controls are working. Then, we'll briefly discuss risk mitigation techniques to help build digital resilience.

• Recognize key requirements of the Uniform Guidance – 2 CFR Part 200.
• Identify updates to the 2025 version of the Compliance Supplement
• Implement changes to the GAO Yellow Book and Green Book to improve reporting and internal controls
• Illustrate ways to perform risk assessments and monitoring of grantees
