'Metropolis' (1927) with live music at Derry (N.H.) Opera House

See yesterday's vision of a tomorrow that never happened: 'Metropolis' (1927), director Fritz Lang's eye-popping silent era fantasy that fills the screen with a futuristic world of privileged upper classes, oppressed workers, underground cities, mad scientists, robotic clones, and some very weird elevators. I'll be scoring this amazing film live on Friday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Derry (N.H.) Opera House in a screening organized by the Derry Public Library and the Derry Arts Council. On the big screen, with live music, and with an audience—it's the only way to experience 'Metropolis,' one of the most influential films of the past 100 years.
