Derby Spook-O

Three ghostly-themed orienteering courses ... if you dare! The West End of Derby is the home of the former County Gaol, the site of some grizzly public executions. The courses take you to these sites, and there'll be historical info about the checkpoints on the back of the map.

Short – 1.5km
Medium – 2.2km
Long – 3.8km

Adults and groups £5 (sorry, no junior fee for this one, as under 16s need go round with an adult due to the traffic out West). The entry fee covers another course afterwards, if you have the time, the energy and the nerve : P

Registration is likely to be at Pickford's House Museum (free entry and a fascinating visit). No need to book, just turn up on the day.
