Winter Learning Lab

The Winter Learning Lab is a dynamic, hands-on professional development experience designed to introduce elementary school administrators to the Playworks approach to safe, inclusive, and sustainable play.

• Over the course of six engaging hours, participants will explore key systems that support a high-functioning recess—such as youth leadership, equipment zones, staffing, and transitions—and learn how simple changes can yield powerful results. Through a mix of interactive activities, structured planning time, and collaborative discussion, attendees will leave with a custom action plan and practical tools to begin upgrading recess at their schools immediately.

Whether you're new to Playworks or ready to deepen your engagement, the Winter Learning Lab offers a clear entry point to meaningful, school-wide change through play.
