Free how-to- sketch meetup! New to urban sketching? Interested in trying it for the first time or take drawing up a level with watercoloring? Looking to expand your skills? Then this is for you!
Urban sketching is a great way to enjoy drawing and watercoloring while remembering events and places of everyday subjects all around you.
In this meetup, you will learn the basics of urban sketching: the sketch kit, watercolor and drawing tips. We will spend 45-60 mins on the fundamentals, then go outside and sketch Meininger’s. It’s a great building with angles and colors to play with. We end with a sketchbook throw-down and answer your questions.
Required materials to bring:
✔️Watercolor or multi media sketchbook + two binder clips (pencil sketch books do not like to get wet)
✔️Portable watercolor palette
✔️water bottle
✔️watercolor brush (size 6, 8 or 10 are recommended)
✔️mechanical pencil
✔️micron pen
✔️eraser
Meiningers will also have 2 great go-to urban sketching books to purchase and of course, needed art supplies.
