NOENEMIES was first launched in 2014 as an attempt to answer a persistent question from Dr Vincent Harding: Where are the songs for today’s movements?
The answer is the songs are all around us. All we have to do is sing them.
So, if you're planning to attend an action, protest, march, or vigil in the coming days, months, or years, please consider this Song Circle a special opportunity to share songs and prepare to raise your voice.
NOENEMIES is a space to re-engage with the transformative power of collective song- to experience how singing together can impact our spirits as individuals, connect us in purpose as a community, and harness our power as a crowd.
This is movement choir practice for singers of all types, and non-singers alike. It is a chance to learn songs that will be deployed during upcoming actions and public witness. It is a space where we raise our voices together.
Please note: if you are deathly afraid of singing in public, you are not alone! In fact, you are most especially needed and welcome! Come ready to lose your fear.
