Venus, Earth, and Mars are all rocky planets orbiting within the zone where liquid water could potentially exist on the surface, yet Earth is the only one with oceans and life. What happened that prevented Venus and Mars from being habitable? Or were they habitable in the past?

We’ll dive into a variety of quirky bird behaviors that might generously be described as “assholery,” highlighting both migratory and local species that excel in these antics. From feisty hummingbirds and melodramatic songbirds to sassy waterfowl and unapologetic birds of prey, this talk is sure to surprise, and maybe even change the way you look at our feathered friends.

We often think we make rational choices. But design quietly guides much of what we do. This talk will explore some examples that have helped shape human behavior and the impact design can have on individuals as well as society as a whole.

Come hang with us after the show! We'll have free pizza to replenish all those calories your brain burned learning at Nerd Nite.
