MIKAILHUITL 2025
We are excited to present our 7th year decolonizing Dia de los Muertos in association with Monclova Law, Colorado Circle’s of Change and Kalpulli Izkalli. The Mexica originally honored the dead for two 20 day months around the months of July-September. The first month for the young and the second for the elderly and the ancestors.
This is a 2-day event. Cuauhtemok Mosqueda will be bringing his expertise to this year's event.
September 19 6pm-8pm Capitan Cuauhtemoc Mosqueda Garcia will present a public lecture on the true meaning of Mikailhuitl. Refreshments provided by D3 Arts.
September 20 from 11am-2pm Procession, Community Altar and Mexica Dance offering
3pm Voladores del Tajin Papantla Ver., Mex
4pm Free community feast provided by La Reyna del Sur
5pm CCFC youth, Mexica music and dance performance.
The event Mexica Dance Offering is invite only for danzantes to participate in the dance circle due to capacity constraints. But the community is free to watch.
