About the event

Fresh Ink: How Tattooing + Community Solved a Decades-Old Collections Problem
Have you ever been faced with what seems to be an impossible task, and then found a solution? For years, no adequate way had been discovered to label the silicon rubber molds made for replicating Museum fossils. Until DMNS staff member Sierra Swenson realized the solution may be hidden right up her sleeve.

Join Sierra to learn more about how DMNS staff, with help from professional tattoo artists, pioneered a brand-new method of labeling molds using tattoo equipment! In addition to teaching you about this innovative methodology, this talk will also highlight the benefits of diversity and collaboration in academic institutions.
