Burlesque For Beginners

Burlesque for Beginners is your chance to dip your toes (and maybe a little more) into the world of tease, sparkle, and self-expression. In this playful and body-positive class, taught by our lead burlesque performer and show producer, you’ll learn the foundational moves of burlesque—struts, shimmies, glove peels, and of course the art of the slow reveal. No dance experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to let your sensual side shine.

This isn’t about perfecting choreography—it’s about confidence, creativity, and having fun in your body. Together we’ll explore character play, classic burlesque movement, and ways to tap into your unique flavor of sexy. You’ll leave with a short routine you can practice at home, along with tools to help you embody allure both on and off the stage.

Come dressed however makes you feel fabulous—fishnets and heels, yoga pants, or anything in between. Whether you dream of performing under the spotlight, want to bring more spice to your personal life, or are simply curious to explore a new art form, this class is a safe, supportive, and flirty introduction to the world of burlesque.

About your Instructor: Luna has been an educator in the kink and performance communities for over a decade. Alongside their deep dive into kink, Luna found a love for burlesque—studying its history, learning the art of tease from seasoned performers, and eventually producing and performing in shows across Atlanta’s thriving nightlife. What began as assisting their mentor in classes soon blossomed into teaching on their own, sharing knowledge with new generations of kinksters and performers in a loving, body-positive, and accessible way. Luna’s approach has always centered on community care, creative expression, and dismantling shame around sexuality.

Now based in Denver, Luna is the lead burlesque performer and main show producer at the Sexploratorium, where they bring their wealth of experience to the stage and classroom alike. Whether teaching kink foundations, producing full-scale burlesque productions, or helping students find their confidence, Luna continues to build spaces where education, sexuality, and performance come together in powerful and playful ways.
