About Before The Sun
Before The Sun is a folk quartet from Denver, Colorado known for their original songwriting, soaring vocal harmony, thoughtful instrumental arrangements, and hilarious stage presence. The band formed in 2023 around the long time friendship of Clare Elich (banjo), Summers Baker (guitar), Grace Clark (percussion), and Joe D'Esposito (cello, fiddle). They play together with the goal of bringing audiences into the magic of acoustic music, and they seek at every turn to write and perform songs that uplift those around them.
What is a Sensory-Friendly Concert?
The Kennedy Center defines sensory friendly performances as being “designed to create a performing arts experience that is welcoming to all families with children with autism or with other disabilities that create sensory sensitivities.”
In practical terms, that means the concert volume is lower (not loud), and lighting isn’t too dark or too bright (no strobing or quick changes). Attendees and their families can move around, dance, and sing along in a fun, judgment-free environment.
