Jack-O-Lantern Contest

The Fairchild House is excited to partner with the DeMotte Chamber of Commerce for our very first Jack-O-Lantern Contest! Winners will be the "Official Jack-O-Lantern' for the Town of DeMotte Boo Bash!

We are asking families to bring their carved Jack-O-Lantern (as well as a battery operated light for your Jack-O-Lantern) to the front lawn of the Historic Fairchild House @ 6 pm on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025. Jack-O-Lanterns will be judged by local family and friends from 6-8pm, so please feel free to invite all your favorites! Candy will be provided by the Fairchild House to be used for voting for your favorite pumpkins.

We will have two winners, young children and older children (up to the age of 13). They will win their pot of candy, as well as a prize provided by the Fairchild House!

The Historic Fairchild House will also be open for tours and hot apple cider-please invite family and friends!

***All Jack-O-Lanterns will be transported to the DeMotte Boo Bash on October 23rd, to be used for photo ops by local friends and family. (Families are instructed to pick up their Jack-O-Lantern at the DeMotte Boo Bash after 7pm.)
