Orca Recovery Day Work Party @ Lower Kenney Creek
Orca Recovery Day is a regional day of action that aims to improve conditions for the critically endangered Southern Resident Orca Whales. To support the recovery of our local orca pods, we can all contribute to restoring habitat for their food source, the Chinook Salmon. Join Whatcom Land Trust, Whatcom Conservation District, and Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association in supporting orca populations at Lower Kenney Creek—a tributary of the North Fork Nooksack River that supports runs of spring Chinook, winter steelhead, coho, chum, and pink salmon. Join us in making a lasting impact by planting native trees and shrubs that restore streamside habitat. Coffee and snacks will be provided, along with all the tools you’ll need!
