Let's Get Buggy! Intro to invertebrate identification

Did you know that 97% of all animal species are invertebrates? This includes critters such as insects, spiders, snails, and many other creepy crawlies. In this adult education program, you will learn how to identify some of the invertebrate species you might encounter at Lyonia Preserve. After the presentation, we will go outside for a mini bioblitz to observe any invertebrates we can find in the native plant garden. We will conclude by returning to the classroom and learning about tools you can use to identify invertebrates you see and ways to participate in citizen science projects.
