Something odd has happened at the Odd Fellows Hall, and it’s up to scent detection dogs and their handlers to figure it out!
A prominent local businessman has gone missing and everyone fears the worst.
Can you and your dog solve the crime?
If you love mystery novels and true crime podcasts, and your dog loves playing nosework, you won’t want to miss out!
This fun scentwork event will use a whodunnit theme to build an interactive puzzle that both dogs and handlers must solve together. Humans will use their primary sense - sight - to read documents and visually analyze the scene of the crime, while dogs will sniff out relevant clues.
Together, you and your dog will piece together what happened, and who did it!
Here’s how it works:
Each sleuthing session is 90 minutes, with four dog and handler teams rotating through the searches. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a file with documents related to the case. In the container search, your dog will find two more hidden documents. You will be given time to read through all the documents and walk through the crime scene. Then, you and your dog will perform an interior search of the crime scene to find three clues that will point to the solution. Finally, you’ll face mugshots of the suspects and declare who the culprit is ... and your dog’s nose will tell you if you’re right or wrong!
The cost for this event is $60. Each search component will have a time limit, and all hides will be wintergreen with no food distractors. This is a great opportunity for both novice and more experienced teams to hone their nosework skills and flex their problem solving in a fun, non-competitive environment!
