This dynamic ensemble blends Afro-Cuban rhythms, virtuosic piano improvisations, and deep musical synergy, delivering fresh interpretations of jazz classics and original compositions. Their high-energy performance promises an unforgettable journey through rhythm, melody, and pure musical brilliance.

PERFORMER BIO:

Cuban-born piano prodigy Kemuel Roig discovered his passion for music at the age of four, setting the foundation for a career that has established him as one of the most versatile and captivating musicians of his generation. By eight, he was immersed in classical piano and percussion studies at Cuba’s prestigious National Vocational Art School, developing a technical mastery and artistic depth that would propel him onto the world stage.

Since relocating to the United States in 2002, Roig has toured globally and recorded with an extraordinary roster of legendary artists, including Arturo Sandoval, Al Di Meola, Aymée Nuviola, Chris Potter, Randy Brecker, Alain Perez, Sammy Figueroa, Giovanni Hidalgo, Marcos Vidal, Abraham Laboriel, among others.

A graduate of the prestigious Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, where he earned his Master’s degree, Roig combines academic excellence with an innate musical sensibility. His unique ability to seamlessly blend Afro-Cuban rhythms with the harmonic sophistication of jazz has made him a standout voice in contemporary music.

His critically acclaimed album, Genesis, is a tribute to the masters who shaped his artistry, weaving the influences of Bebo Valdés, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans, Bud Powell, and McCoy Tyner into a sound that is both deeply rooted in tradition and boldly innovative. Chucho Valdés hails him as a “Superman on the piano,” while Arturo Sandoval describes him as “an incredible musician blessed by God who plays so many styles with absolute authenticity.” Al Di Meola calls him “one of the new hot guys from Cuba on acoustic piano,” and Shelly Berg praises him as “a perfect blend of virtuosity and musicality.”

Whether commanding the stage as a solo artist, leading his own ensembles, or collaborating with jazz and Latin music’s elite, Kemuel Roig is a pianist whose presence is unforgettable—an artist whose brilliance continues to shape the sound of modern jazz.

Manuel Orza, a highly accomplished bassist, completed his studies at the prestigious Amadeo Roldán Conservatory in Havana, Cuba, in 1989. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with an extraordinary roster of world-renowned artists across various genres, including Terry Bozzio, José Feliciano, Simon Stockhausen, Horacio “El Negro” Hernández, Michael Riessler, Robby Ameen, Julio Barreto, Ravi Coltrane, Roy Hargrove, Arturo Sandoval, Michel Portal, Markus Stockhausen, Alfredo de la Fé, and the ‘New York All Stars.’ His versatility has also led him to perform with notable Latin and jazz legends such as Mercado Negro, Jimmy Bosch, Dave Valentín, El Canario, Giovanni Hidalgo, Robert Vilera, Issac Delgado, Guajiro Mirabal, Aymée Nuviola, Kemuel Roig, Amaury Gutiérrez, Cheo Feliciano, Celia Cruz, Tito Nieves, Rey de la Paz, Ray Sepúlveda, Andy Montañez, Calixto Oviedo, and Francisco ‘Pancho’ Céspedes, among many others. With a career spanning decades, Orza continues to be a sought-after musician, known for his exceptional skill, deep musicality, and ability to blend seamlessly into a variety of musical landscapes.”

José ‘Majito’ Aguilera is a Venezuelan percussionist renowned for his versatility and mastery across multiple genres. Born in Valencia, Venezuela, he spent a decade in Spain performing with world-renowned artists before relocating to the United States to further his career. Aguilera has shared the stage with legendary musicians, including Celia Cruz, Arturo Sandoval, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Aymée Nuviola, Tony Succar, Kemuel Roig, Alain Pérez, Oscar D’León, Rubén Blades, and Isaac Delgado, among many others. As a studio musician, his credits include Grammy-winning and Billboard-charting projects such as Celia Cruz’s Grammy-winning 2004 album and Tony Succar’s Unity: The Latin Tribute to Michael Jackson.

His extensive experience spans salsa, Latin jazz, and contemporary music, collaborating with elite producers such as Sergio George and Irving Méndez. A dedicated educator, Aguilera studied at esteemed institutions such as the Conservatorio de Música de Valencia. Now based in Miami, he remains a highly sought-after musician, bringing his expertise to both live performances and studio recordings, leaving a lasting impact on the global music scene.”
