The planets hold power and influence over our lives. They also hold influence over the plant and animal kingdom as well. The practice of biodynamics harnesses the power of the moon and the planets to bring us a powerful and fun practice of composting and soil preparations that quite literally raise the vibration of the earth and also provide vital minerals and nutrients to the plants and soil.
Have you ever heard of Biodynamic gardening? It was established by the great Rudolph Steiner, most well known for developing Waldorf Education and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA Farm Program). This system of farming utilizes a set of soil preparations created using very simple yet very potent ingredients. He has identified key mineral and nutrient rich plants like yarrow, chamomile, and Valerian to name a few that when prepared in a very specific way, have dramatic effects on plantings. Plantings get a boost of minerals, nutrients, and energetic frequencies as well. These compost preparations are prepared not only with nutrient dense compounds, but are also made in alignment with the cycles of the moon and planets.
There are certain times and days that are optimal for for sowing root crops, pruning trees, and cleaning your tools. There is a magical dance going on in the great heavens above that have quite a dramatic effect on the surface of the earth. The moon for instance literally moves the oceans, with the tides. And of course plants and humans both are mostly made of water. Understanding these subtle and sometimes not so subtle energetic effects on how we tend to and grow food can make a huge different in production, disease resistance, pest resistance, nutrient density, and flavor!

Class Structure
This workshop is a one day event, with lectures about the history of biodynamics and specific practices you can start applying in your gardening and farming processes right away. We will provide useful resources and share any presentations used during the workshop. This will take place inside the geodesic zome at the Cosmos Ranch Foundation.
We will then serve a farm-to-table lunch. Dietary needs and restrictions will be accommodated. Please let us know your needs on the survey during registration.
After lunch we get to prepare 2 biodynamic compost preparations: dandelion and chamomile preparations. Both of these are easily re-created at home with affordable easy to acquire ingredients. We will then mix up a pre-made biodynamic preparation to disperse out onto the land, with blessings and prayers.
We have the opportunity to enjoy an optional group healing acupuncture session at an additional cost. This session will align with the energy of Fall. After acupuncture we will get to experience an agnihotra meditation.
Overnight camping is available at no additional cost!

COST: Sliding Scale, $44-$144
